Wireless laser sensor RF LDS-NET

With wireless laser sensors for longer distances, random objects can be detected independently of their colour, materials or surface, facilitating non-contact monitoring. This particularly makes sense for large load carriers (LLC), pallets or other large-size means of transporting goods. The RF LDS-SPOT and the RF LDS-ZONE enable objects of all kinds to be detected reliably, so that e.g. a requisition note can be automatically triggered if a minimum stock level is ascertained during the detection of materials.

Highlights
  • Reliable monitoring over distances of up to 10 m
  • Objects can be detected independently of their materials or surface
  • Flexible assembly using universal bracket
  • Automatic requisition notes realisable
  • The sensors are mounted above field level and are therefore not a source of interference for humans or machines

Via the radio module RF 96 BU, the optical sensors are integrated in the overall system and can be parameterised remotely via the Sensor Bridge software. Up to four laser sensors can be connected to a single radio module thanks to a Y-cable. This enables, for example, the occupancy of adjacent load carriers to be measured. Using the Y-adapter, installation can be in the shape of a star or as a bus system arrangement with several laser sensors in series.

The wireless laser sensors are usually mounted above field level. This protects them from damage and at the same time prevents them from being a source of interference for humans or conveyor vehicles. The RF LDS-SPOT works according to the time of flight principle and is suited to the position monitoring of distant targets or large load carriers, amongst other things. A coverage area can be parameterised via the Sensor Bridge for a distance of up to 10 m.

The RF LDS-ZONE detects objects using a matrix of 8 x 4 measuring points. The size of the coverage area depends on the distance of the sensor from the object to be detected. The laser sensor is thus able to monitor the field of vision precisely thanks to the 32 measuring points. Independently of the colour and surface of the object, the ideal measuring distance is between 0.4 m und 5 m.

The wireless sensor is installed using a universal bracket permitting flexible mounting and precise positioning – regardless of whether it is located under the ceiling, on a side wall or elsewhere.
