As a platform for operating the Sensor Bridge software, steute is offering the Revolution PI (RevPI), an industrial PC (IPC) pre-configured especially for this application – and perfectly suited to a wide range of installations. In addition to the Sensor Bridge software, this Gateway provides an MQTT broker operating in parallel as a communicator between the components, a configuration interface for the device parameters, as well as the option of installing additional software modules.
When high demands are made on the operational safety of the overall system, multiple IPCs can be operated in parallel as a cluster. The overall system then remains functional without any manual intervention, even if a hardware unit should fail. Thanks to the redundancy, maximum safety for your processes is guaranteed.
As an alternative to a pre-configured RevPI, the Sensor Bridge software and additional modules can also be installed and operated as docker containers within an existing server infrastructure.
