As a platform for operating the Sensor Bridge software, steute is offering the Revolution PI (RevPI), an industrial PC (IPC) pre-configured especially for this application – and perfectly suited to a wide range of installations. In addition to the Sensor Bridge software, this Gateway provides an MQTT broker operating in parallel as a communicator between the components, a configuration interface for the device parameters, as well as the option of installing additional software modules.
When operational safety of the overall system needs to be taken to a higher level, a cluster of IPCs can be run in parallel. Should a hardware element fail, the overall system then remains functional even without manual intervention. As an alternative to a pre-configured RevPI, the Sensor Bridge software and additional modules can also be installed and operated as docker containers within an existing server infrastructure.
